International Economic Summit

This project is funded in part by a grant from Longview Foundation.

Purpose: Bring high school students together for statewide simulation on international trade

Timeframe: Summer-Fall, 2006 with state-wide International Economic Summit planned for January 6, 2007

Description:

  • Support the International Trade Education Foundation and Council on Economic Education in planning the first statewide International Economic Summit in Washington, involving 25 teachers already trained to do the Summit at their local schools
  • Provide support for a hosted executive luncheon and Summit demonstration which will include business, educational and government invitees as well as the press

Funding has been obtained to support the state-wide International Economic Summit, but the Summit has been delayed until Fall, 2007 in order to train more Social Studies teachers in Spring, 2006 to participate in the statewide event.
