Nancy Bacon of the World Affairs Council has sent out a packet of information to the members of the Washington State House Education Committee this week, including:

1. Teacher Resources in International Education (resource guide developed by the World Affairs Council, which was partially funded by the dissemination grant from Asia Society)

The House Ed Committee is meeting next week with former Gov. Hunt of North Carolina on the topic of early childhood education. Gov. Hunt happens to also be co-chair of the National Coalition for Asia and International Education in the Schools

We are hoping that he'll have a chance to mention the successful International Education Summit that we just held (thanks to a grant from the National Coalition) and encourage the House Education Committee to take a serious look at International Education.

We'll be mailing these same pieces to the full legislature shortly before International Education Week (Nov. 17-21).

ACTION:

If you are a constituent in the district of any of the members of the House Education Committee (listed below), you might send a follow up email or make a phone call to let them know that you are involved with the Washington State Coalition for International Education and attended the recent Summit. Tell them why you think International Education is important and ask for their support.
