Global Business Management program for international students

American Cultural Exchange together with International Cross-Cultural Committee runs a Global Business Management program for international students.

The aim of the study program is threefold: 1. to help improve students’ proficiency in English language, 2. to expose students to graduate-level business management courses as well as the work environment in the U.S., and 3. to help increase their cross-cultural awareness through practical study in another culture.

“On-site observation activities” represent the final quarter of the GBM program. This is the opportunity for students to use their previous work experience and the knowledge they’ve gained during their study on campus in the real American business world. Since all of the GBM students have at least one year of previous full-time work experience (average is about five years) in Japan and have excellent communication skills in English, they can contribute a lot to local businesses while they learn from their

On-site Observation Activities.

ACE is looking for local businesses/organizations to host a Japanese business student for up to 10 weeks (3-8 hours per day) for these “on-site observation activities”. We trust the opportunity will be beneficial to both parties. Some students have special skills which can be a significant asset to the company/organization. It will particularly benefit a company/organization which has business activities with Japan or plans to expand their business internationally since the students are bilingual, bi-cultural and very familiar with Japanese business world.

Students hope to gain practical skills, experiences and knowledge in their field of interest through this opportunity. The majority of these Japanese students have very specific or focused ideas of what they would like to learn through these On-site Observation Activities. This is an unpaid observation/placement. If your business and/or organization would be interested in participating, please e-mail Maka at: makaj@cultural.org.
