Projects 2010

In Spring, 2010, the Coalition was awarded its first Grant for Multi-State Initiatives on Critical Issues from the Longview Foundation. The grant is funding the Global Competence Institute on August 11, 2010 in Vancouver, WA (see Summit for details). The grant team from Washington, New Jersey, and West Virginia is also working with Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs to develop a "Web 2.0 Presence" for Global Competence. Projects 2008

In Spring, 2008, the Coalition was awarded its sixth State Innovations Grant from Longview Foundation and the National Coalition for International Education. The fiscal agent this year was the Alliance for Education in Seattle through the International Schools Fund.

Projects 2006

In Spring, 2006, the Coalition was awarded its fourth State Innovations Grant from Longview Foundation and the National Coalition for International Education. The International Trade Education Foundation of Seattle served as fiscal agent. For details and progress reports, see the specific project pages:

The Coalition carried over two projects from the 2005 State Innovations grant:

In addition, we have supported ongoing work by the Interest Groups established in 2005:

In particular, the Early Language Learning Group offered a series of programs beginning in 2006 on topics of interest identified at the fall, 2005 Early Language Learning Symposium. The first was a program on Heritage Language Learning and Teaching with Dr. Shuhan Wang on January 30, 2006.

In Spring, 2006, the Coalition was awarded its third State Innovations Grant from Longview Foundation and the National Coalition for International Education.
